Parent Information
In order to compete in the competition, the student must either participate with a registered school or register as a non-school competitor (NSC). If your child’s school does not currently participate in MATHCOUNTS, you may be able to encourage the school to participate with either a teacher or parent coach. Students enrolled in the 6th–8th grades in any school in the Arlington, Fairfax and Alexandria areas are eligible to participate in the Northern Virginia Regional MATHCOUNTS Competition. If you are the parent of a 6th–8th grade student, you may encourage your student to join this school program. Many schools (public, private, parochial, and home) in our region have a MATHCOUNTS program.
If the school decides to not register, your student can register for MATHCOUNTS as an NSC. This registration will be available November 5. Register an NSC for MATHCOUNTS.
